Seven years after he first tried to retire, Health Department Laboratory Director Bob Murray said he's really hanging up his white coat this time after 40 years on the job.
Murray took an early retirement package in 2004, but Stamford officials coaxed him back to the Stamford Government Center a week later after realizing his departure left them without their most qualified medical director.
We pick up very few children now with lead in this community.

Murray was one of the first HIV counselors in the state, a role for which he volunteered in 1987 to help the city's fledgling HIV-infection prevention program.
